I'm a guy who is planning on quitting his day job in the next 6 years or so, and I'll be expecting to do more of the things that I like to do. A couple of my interests are videography (as seen on my home page) and.....sit down for this......I play the accordion.

Admittedly, this is an unusual passion but it's one which I've only acquired about two years ago when I picked up my old instrument which I had only intermittently played over the last 25 years. I took about 7 years of lessons when I was a youngster and quit to play rock and country music (anything but polkas) and I played the pedal steel guitar (that's another whole story in itself) in country/rock groups for about 20 years.

I'm not quite sure why I was drawn back to the accordion.....perhaps it's because I've got a bit of grey in my hair or maybe my musical tastes have evolved. Whatever it is, I've jumped back into the fire and I've got myself a new accordion with a MIDI interface that let's me connect to my computer or synthesizer. I'm also playing (or trying to play) more of the music which I want to play and, no, I don't do polkas! (although I can!). I guess I'm trying to get the word out that the accordion can be used for many more styles of music than most people assume and there's lots of it out there if you're interested in finding it.

My Accordion Evolution project is the result of this re-kindled interest. It was taped while I attended last year's International Accordion Convention in Las Vegas NV.
